Perth WA's new rescue chopper
Does anyone know who is operating or crewing the St John's Ambulance B412? The news seems to focus on the paramedics, so just wondered.
Coincidence aided victims
IT WAS a case of being in the right place at the right time for seven paramedics who were training at Jandakot Airport when Monday's plane crash happened.
Medivac helicopter paramedic David Ford said police took four paramedics to the crash site within minutes.

Two paramedics remained with the helicopter while the other paramedic assisted the Royal Flying Doctor Service which treated one of the men in its hangar.
"There were three survivors walking around with their hair and shirts burnt off with significant burns to their face, head, arms and torso," Mr Ford said. "They looked like the Bali blast victims, all swollen."
When the paramedics arrived the pilot was lying on the ground near the burning wreckage and the dead man was inside.
Mr Ford said being at the scene enabled paramedics to organise an appropriate and speedy ambulance response.
The ambulances, which arrived within 10 minutes, were met by police who led them directly to the crash site.
Three of the survivors were taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital and another man was transported by ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and later transferred to RPH.
The Medivac helicopter was used to take another victim to RPH.
"It was sheer chance that we were on the ground when the plane crashed," Mr Ford said. "The men received medical treatment a lot sooner because of this and hopefully this will help to minimise their injuries."

Grounded.
Last seen yesterday, hiding on a Perth footy oval minus a set of very much damaged main rotor blades and a few dinted ego's.

I gather your are closely connected to this and also ducking for cover.
Pretty hard to duck when its all over the six o’clock news thou!!
But you now have a stage set for your justification...we are waiting to hear justification for your aggression.
Bet the owners back in Canada are demanding the same justification.

Yes thats the one, but won't get much from within Canadian Helicopters Corporation, they are not allowed to talk publically about such things.

I repeated exactly what was shown and stated on the news
I'm sure you are in the loop anyway, If I cast my mind back to last year... you were spot on about CHC not winning the RAAF SAR contract when your 'very informative' sources told you that a mob from up-north would.
So who is the idiot?
Not sure what happened in this case, but I don't think it's good for anyone to be giving it a bit of the old hahaha...

High Nr your obviously a man that knows a great deal about very little. If you would like to know they were on a job to a two car head on with multiple patients and know winching was involved.
I also heard what was reported but we all know that reporters never get a story wrong.

Just got back from a field tour, some of us do have to work hard!

Whineboy, I can't recall ever saying that Canadian Helicopters had lost Australia's largest contract. [please post my quote if I did]. What I did say, and said it quite strongly, was the financial wisdom/justification in having a dedicated and non military SAR system for the Australian Military.
But if this contract is deemed to be justified, then a 100% Australian Company should receive it, not a foreign company controlling one of our Military Assets.
After all, when our FA18’s were in Iraq, did we or could we have sent our SAR Helicopters to assist?
Of course we couldn’t, the Canadian Helicopters Civilian Contractors would not allow that vital flexibility. [neither would any civilian company I would suspect.], that was a well thought out “small print section” of the contract, another AUS$100,000,000 wasted in today’s international battlefields.
But going back to the initial post.
A fully equipped SAR helicopter with I assume a reasonably competent crew, hit’s trees and end’s up in a oval with no blades attached.
Fortunately no one was injured, except perhaps a few ego’s.
Still waiting on Lance Captain Maintranschip to justify his rather nasty post.
It’s interesting to recall my old English Teacher’s words of wisdom, “If your adversary [debating team] has to revert to personal attacks or name calling, then they have already lost, you may not have won, but they have lost.”
Club, “know/now/no” does not make sense, try again please!

High NR, No cynicism here mate, just an observation. They could have taken their tail rotor out on a Mr Whippy van at the school fete for all I care. It's unfortunate for anyone who is involved/responsible for such expensive mishaps. The simple fact is that though there are those out there more prone than others, sometimes we get away with it and other times we don't. When they bite you they bite hard. We all take pride in our own ability and approach to what we do (or at least we should!) and do our best to operate proficiently and professionaly but ours could be just around the corner at the tail end of a two second lapse in concentration

Whilst I'm not going to get into a messing or pissing contest on this subject, I happen to agree with the Aussie Culture.
Drive an Aussie made car...yes I enjoy the old rust bucket.
Work for an Aussie mob..hard not to when you own it.
Bypassing those cheap retail outlets to buy Aussie made shirts? [Chinese ones shrink anyway]
Always look for the little Aussie Emblem when buying gear at the shops.
Travel on QANTAS.
Never buy those impoted oranges....
Perhaps I'm an old fashioned Nationalist, but mate its never "tiring" to support the home grown product.
Think about it....
