We've both lived and worked in the States. There's not much wrong with saluting the flag.
The problem arises when a
politician wraps the flag around himself and uses it to encite the populous into saluting him.

Thanks for the wishes! I hope Dave's post doesn't kick us too far off the thread.
I am spending this 4th in the UK, kicking around Aberdeen, Edinburgh and the Hebrides. Fantastic place, Scotland! Flew the S-92 from Aberdeen to Inverness last week, beautiful sky, fantastic day all the way around.

The Witchery restaurant very near the entrance to Edinburgh Castle is superb.
There's a whisky museum virtually next door if you want a change from your Jack Daniels.
