Realistic recommendations for Oz CPL?

Lads,

I'm new here, I've been doing a bit of reading and just wanted to ask as to what was required, realistically, to get a career happening as a commercial pilot.

I'm still only young, but have the money to do my PPL or my CPL. I'm wondering, though, what do you realistically need for an excellent chance at employment?

There've been threads where some've said ATPL(H) and IREX are less meaningful in new pilots with low hours, however; is it worth having anyway? I know it's a subjective question, but still. What's out there that I should do to maximise my potential to get employed? ATPL(H), IREX, Night VFR?

I'm certainly not adverse to having to work in the middle of nowhere (either Australia or abroad) for a couple of years, if that's what it takes. But if anyone has some good info for me, I'd be much appreciative.

Thanks,

Chris
