Question PPL IR Helicopters

Having bust a gut a couple of years ago to pass the written exams (harder work than a degree but condensed into 3 months)and then pass the approved course for fixed wing IR it seems a shame now I only fly helicopters not to go on and do IR(H).

I fly a Gazelle purely as a get_you _around business tool, probably clocking in the order of 200 to 250 hours a year.
Currently,I only have around 300 heli hrs with a night ratig.

If I do the IR I've got to go and buy a twin ,otherwise whats the point(in the UK).

Does flying instruments really liberate duff weather flying or with freezing levels,MSA's,the need to land at proper airfields and associated taxis etc really nullify any gains of the twin.

Besides,I adore the Gazelle.

Dear Marge,can you Help?
