That R66 pilot is supremely lucky to still be alive - poor Met awareness, lack of METAR checking and pressonitis leading to IIMC and a crash (let's not dress it up as a heavy landing).

The R66 track depicted orbits right round my old home, as a teenager! I literally used to look over that field from my bedroom.

If you look at the aerial photo in report, there is a petrol station between the crash site and the “wall of a house”.
