IDFAF retires AS565 'Atalef'
After near 4 decades of service, with the IDFAF one and only shipborne helicopter, the Airbus Helicopters AS565 Atalef is being retired, as Sikorsky MH-60R (?) are on the order book. Back when the Dauphin entereed service it was similar to the USCG HH-65A Dolphin i believe

If anyone remembers the 1992 flick with Rob Lowe, Gale Hansen, as Navy SEALS during Op Desert Shield / desert Storm, the whole movie was filmed in Israel so at 52:16, there is the original IDFAF Dauphin starring as a US NAvy helikcopter.
cheers

At the time of the ATALEF introduction, the USCG H-65 Dolphins were still fitted with Lycoming LTS101 engines. The Arriel 2C2 Upgrade was made in the early 2000s to create the H-65C (along with new avionics and I think the N3/EC155 asymmetric tail rotor)
