Winch Operators Australia

What’s happened with recruitment of Winch Operators in Australia of late? There used to be no jobs and even guys with thousands of hours couldn’t get a gig, now there is jobs everywhere. We’ve had some guys start with us, be around for 6 months, and leave to take up Aircrew jobs without a winch endorsement, NVG and a handful of hours.
Have the requirements dropped? Is this just a problem in Australia, or is the problem in the UK, Europe and USA also? What has changed?

Bristow are in a bit of a grind in the U.K./Ireland when it comes to Winch Ops. Previous over reliance on military experience and no training plan. Now they’re all leaving!

There's nobody left in the market. Its a sellers market for all crew at the moment. Though you'd never know it in Aus the way some operators are ignoring their crew EBA negotiations sadly.
