Kenya’s Military Chief General and 9others killed in helicopter crash.

Just reported by the BBC no mention of what type, 9 other military leaders were also killed and there were 2 survivors.

Kenya's military chief, Gen Francis Omondi Ogolla, has died after a military helicopter crashed in the west of the country, the president said.
Gen Ogolla - Kenya's highest ranking military officer - was in the helicopter alongside 11 other military personnel. Only two people survived.
In a news conference, President William Ruto said it was a "moment of great sadness" for the country.
He had earlier convened an urgent security council meeting.
Mr Ruto said the crash happened at 14:20 local time (12:20 BST). The Kenya Air Force has dispatched an air investigation team to establish the cause of the crash, the president said.

Being reported elsewhere as a Huey II, UH-1H

I would post the ASN link, but I’m not yet allowed to post URLs

A Kenya AIr Force Bell UH-1H Huey II, operated by 53 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, crashed under unknown circumstances shortly after takeoff from Chesegon, West-Pokot, in the Rift Valley, Elgeyo Marakwet county.
Ten occupants perished and two survived with serious injuries and the helicopter caught fire and was destroyed.
There you go.

The accident aircraft is a Bell UH-1H II, or Huey Two, the last of the Bell upgrades to the UH-1H series of helicopters. Great machine, tragic accident, it will be interesting to see the report.
