SYDNEY, Feb 26 (Reuters) - An Australian helicopter pilot and two local workers were released unharmed in Papua New Guinea on Monday within hours of being kidnapped at gunpoint in the remote highlands, police said, following negotiations with security forces.
The three had landed at a remote telecoms site near Mount Sisa in the province of Hela when an armed group took them away, David Manning, the police commissioner of Papua New Guinea, said in a statement.

Well I guess once the kidnappers figured out they took a heli pilot, they paid the ransom to the cops to take him back. That's how worthless they are.

Heads up for PNG: Recent kidnapping highlights need for caution.

Pilots: Get informed on security risks, plan flights carefully, maintain communication, and follow security protocols. Be prepared for emergencies.

Workers: Follow employer instructions, stay informed, be vigilant, and avoid high-risk areas.

Always consult your employer and authorities for the latest safety and security information specific to your work and location.

When the word went out that the Terribly Rough Guys were going in with a Licence To Kill, the bad boys quickly handed him back.
