You can be sued for what another person writes below your post
I was reading many of the posts lately that have affected the Australian fellow rotorheads. The likes of CHC management dramas, the horrible Sea World crash and theories being flown around, and the late Westpac post of pilot currency and training slagging.
So as to not hijack other threads and have thread drift, I'd like to share an exert from an email I saw today. It mentions the possibility of 'Personally getting sued for what another person writes below your post (even if you delete it when notified of your badly written comment)'.
Now this is an Australian based comment only on a council forum, though would such rulings be applied here at PPrune?
The poor Councillor got fined $205,000 !!!!!!!!!!!

You CANNOT be sued for what someone else writes. You CAN be sued for repeating or further distributing someone else's defamatory comment. Do not believe everything you see...even in an email.
