Helicopter Flying Helmets

We are in need of helicopter flying helmets for our HEMS operation and hope to procure a batch of used helmets from larger operators (as we've done in the recent past). Any advice or contacts will be much appreciated. Thanks, FD

Think you need to look at your operation if it is that tight you need to buy second hand, sounds like you are on top of a slippery slope

This is unbelievable. A helmet that has been dropped is rendered useless as the impact survivability cannot be known. You cannot know if a used helmet has been dropped…

Aircrew on this unit should speak to their Union Reps/ Safety staff immediately and should certainly refuse to fly with such equipment. A refurb cannot detect or fix fatigue or inter- composite damage.

I simply cannot believe that anyone thinks this is ok???

He isn’t. But one doesn’t like to comment on such matters. Normally.
