Sydney - Channel 9 chopper

Hi all,
I live in Willoughby.
With the relocation of 9 News to North Sydney and the tower coming down it's the end of an era.
Used to be able to hear the 9 chopper from our house as it lifted off from the helipad out the back of the newsroom.
Where is it based now?
Are they able to land on the roof of the new building to pick up reporters, camera crew - or do they have to drive to somewhere else?

That used to be an awful pad to use - in from the south, out to the south, and a kick up the backside if the wind is a howling southerly and you come in from the north. A B206 with camera crew was a serious load to lift out if the wind was up your backside, and absolutely nowhere to go when it turns to worms.

Not so bad operating there in the B3 but still as you say with the southerly kept you on your toes.

To answer the opening post, the B3 is based in Bankstown airport.

Thanks fellas.
Still able to get my rotary wing fix watching the big Toll machine approach to land on the RNSH roof helipad.
And occasionally hear the odd Blackhawk at night - presumably carrying guys in black with guns.
Very distinctive sound.
