Flying Phase 8 on AW139

Good day 139 pilots,

Anybody here that is operating Honeywell Phase 8? Feedback on the enhancements and pilot interface improvements will be appreciated.

About to start practical training after retrofit next week.

Is “Synthetic Vision” the big part of Phase 8, on the AW139?

It seems to work well on the AW189’s - early “phase”.
What is the major improvement with “Phase 8” on the AW189? Anyone know?

I don’t think phase 8 has even been released on AW189 yet.

surely they’re not connected? 139 uses Honeywell avionics with their software, 189 uses Leonardo’s own software, so they won’t be following same timelines or phase numbers.

I know the 139/189 have different FMS’s. (Lucky enough to be endorsed on both)
I’m pretty sure some 189’s are “Phase 7” already, with Phase 8 available. (Not the ones I fly)
Perhaps coincidence with the 139 at the same “Phase”.

That’s something I guess.
I’m hoping they have adjusted some of the AFCS rates.

Looks very nice and advanced but apparently still not advanced enough to make the ipad redundant...

well when you've paid $10,000 for the mounting brackets you'll want to make good use of them right?
