Reed sell Vertical Flight Expo (formerly Helitech)

Reed Exhibitions have sold off Vertical Flight Expo, hopefully new owners will go back to the good old days and promote as Helitech?

They will find it difficult to select a slot for the event to sit in and further face difficulties of getting support from the main industry MROs. The Helitech name may well be co-owned with the Europeans and not available.

Going back cap in hand to Duxford may resolve one problem only to bring up others including increased charges. The European Rotors show has selected the November slot and states 'every year' which may be financially too much for the MROs to stomach more than one year and it certainly sits in the slot selected by Vertical Flight last year. This greatly hyped Corona virus has already taken out the AERO Show and may yet see the cancellation of others.

As European Rotors show is indoors and away from an aviation venue (the very issues that blighted recent Helitechs) the only real chance for Vertical Flight Expo is to reach out for an aviation venue with access. There is also Heli Expo UK at Wycombe Air Park..... it has been trying to be a new Helitech for years and has failed. Whether that is a venue thing (it does have fly-in access) or organisation I do not wish to judge.
