First the Pig dropping story, now the Deer dropping story, This is going to give a bad name to the average R44 stuntman.

That tail rotor seemed to come close to make for an even nastier video.

It did seem to be a sterling effort at lining holes up in Swiss cheese.

The first post got me curious about the economics of fuel v meat costs so I looked up the channel.
This sort of explains it.
What could possibly go wrong?

That video reminds me of a Russian registered EC120 which was dropped off at our Part-145 facility due for the 144 months inspection. Maintenance asked me to do the acceptance flight which was cancelled right after we looked at the MR blades. They were covered with scratches, dents and buckles caused by cartridge cases from the previous deer hunting season.

If you watch the video carefully, you will see that they are using brass catchers on all of the weapons when firing from the helicopter. There is one still shot in a couple of the montages in the video that does not show this, but I suspect that it was just a posed photo.

No hunting in this video, either. It's rifle work on steel targets.

The brass catchers are very clear and easy to see after 3:00 in the video. These guys aren't stupid (from a technical standpoint, how you stand on firearms philosophically is a different issue). Although I did see some shooting without proper eye protection, which is stupid.

The first video is what happens when you let stupid people loose in a helicopter............

As for the second - shooting guns from a helicopter is good fun but a missile is even better
