Deconfliction UK Emergency Services Helicopters

Good news for those of us that continue to be worried about bumping into other emergency service helicopters. The VHF frequency 123.1 Mhz (presently a military scene of search frequency) is to opened up within the UK to all HEMS, Air ambulance, Police ASU and SAR helicopters. The frequency will be used through a system of 'blind calls' whenever you feel that your 'incident' may attract other helicopters. MOD and the Home Office are disseminating an SOP to all concerned.

Definately a move in the right direction.

I understand that this will be written into the CHAS/NAAA SOP for Air Support at MAJAX. (Coincidentally adapted from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance SOP)
