Jet Engines for High Speed?

Very interesting! Is appears Kamov proposes using jet engines for high speed flight. The question is are they convertible engines that can operate in both turboshaft and turbojet modes? Or are separate engines used for driving the rotors and high speed flight?

Not sure how well that delta wing will work, the large surface area will causes issues with downdraft from the rotors, especially in the hover.

Variable geometry, perhaps?

The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI) has confirmed the development of a new Russian advanced high-speed helicopter.

To paraphrase Ray Prouty - with helicopter design, what you gain in the hover you lose in forward flight and what you gain in forward flight you lose in the hover - will this design be able to square the circle?

Looks like something from a Gerry Anderson production.
