First Multi-Engine Pre-Entry Conversion Course

Has anyone taken a ground school course for multi-engine helicopters?
If you did how in depth was the course? Do you learn a lot?

Thank you.

I did mine last year, it was very interesting and I enjoyed it, couldn't recommend Phil Croucher and Caledonian Advanced Training enough well worth getting in contact with him, he's quite often on this forum

The problem with the syllabus is that the stuff you really need to know is not on it

Yes. Course depth covered all required aspects. Learned enough to pass the test. There is nothing mysterious about twin-engine helicopters, if you can fly a single you can fly a twin. Just a few extra bits to know about flying a twin when it becomes a single.

"if you can fly a single you can fly a twin."

Flying, yes, operating no - there's a bit more to it. Certainly backing off 10% from MAUW would be one aspect.

Glad to hear you're liking the 109! Never got there myself, being an eternal 212 fan!

Phil

Totally agree flying and operating are two separate issues
Some of the new twins are really complex particularly in the FMS systems
And using the full auto land facilities
