California fires

Ex Fireman, photographer and Periscope contributor “EPN564” has descriptive video of military helicopters fighting a fire in California. Currently live but also available to view later.
He is commenting on the fast turn around of military helicopters.

Excellent stuff, MJB. I've been listening to the California fire teams on broadcastify.com since Wednesday. I knew they have a lot of choppers engaged but this is the first I've seen of any military involvement. The scope and size of the Thomas fire is hard to imagine, it may be bigger than some countries. The winds have made it largely indefensible, and when it's over the property and crop damage will be in the billions (expect avocado prices to rise). A big shout out to the guys and girls in the choppers and the fire appliances on the ground trying to stop Thomas and the half dozen or so other fires in the Southland. Salute.
