Helicopters Kong Skull island

I watched last night , a few things:
It looked like an S92 flying behind the hueys
Film was set in 73 but they kept referring to a Sea Hawk which I believe did not fly until late 70's.
You would think that after the first few had been swatted out of the sky by kong they would have kept their distance , but they all kept flying within arms length of the giant ape.
I know it is small things but you think they could have afforded a good technical expert.
Oh well surely not the last or worst mistake in a big film .
