Corrupt as hell

Just like every other bid there. CORRUPT. Doesn't matter who the bidders are, the agency, the competition, the requirements. It's just corrupt as hell. Always has been, always will be. Helicopters cost lots of money. Lots of money to the vendor, mean lots of money for the boys. And so it goes on. Everywhere, not just India.

Same story everywhere.....

It should all be so simple:

Customers should create a template of "Must have" and "nice to have" items.
Companies should present their helicopters, demonstrating their abillities down to the point.
Customers should make their decision.

But like you said:
Once millions are in the pot, everyones´fingers are getting longer and longer......don´t want to know how many of those idiots ended up as employees of Airbus or Leonardo or Finmeccanica.....that would explain so many things at once...

The technical aspects are pretty much the ante in these competitions, the real meat is in the financing and the industrial offsets. So I'm not surprised an Air Force boss got nicked, he interfered with a game bigger boys were playing. His error.
