Can we take it that Nigel F has died of his injuries?

RIP Nigel,
Your beaming smile will be sadly missed by all. You lit up the room and everyone else when you walked in.
Our condolences to the family.

What do you enjoy about being part of the helicopter industry?

Nigel, may your next set of wings be golden, rather than those that flap, rotate, and twist.

Wait a minute!!! Is this actually true? We seem to be taking one post by someone we don't know and running with it. Does anyone know for certain?

Yes unfortunately I was there at the hospital with Nigel when passed away yesterday afternoon just past 4pm
From complications following his operation on his back a blood clot is the likely reason
He will be sorely missed and irreplaceable ,a larger than life person always smiling and a real gent , we both have spent many hours flying in our helicopters all over the world many thanks to everyone who has sent messages I will reply sometime when it all sinks in

Yes, terribly sad. Nigel was indeed larger than life in many ways and will be missed by many people. To survive as he did and be on the road to recovery makes it even sadder.
RIP old friend

Took over training Nigel on hu269 in Jan2002. He passed his PPL/H with Andy Gutteridge (Oxford) in the May. I also did his Sa341 conversion which he again passed at Oxford.
I did his LPCs for the next couple of years but cannot find his name in my logbook after 2004.
He was always pleasant and helpful. Back then he had a 'very safe and sensible' approach to his flying although that may not have been true for his love of fast powerful cars.
R.I.P. big Nige - I'm very sad (if not a little angry) What the **** happened???

RIP Nige - a true gentle giant who always wore a big smile and enjoyed a deep passion for all things mechanical, especially his cherished Alouette II (which was beautiful, following a big overhaul a couple of months ago).
We'll miss the thumbs up. RIP big fella.
