Vale Neil Chant

It's with sadness that I have to advise that Neil Chant from Perth Australia passed away today after a long illness. Neil had a long career as a helicopter pilot having flown for 45 years in such Companies as Okanagan Helicopters, Airfast, Pacific Helicopters (PNG) Bristow as well as several others.

During his career he was the mentor for many up and coming pilots, who will continue his legacy.

Here, here! they will continue his legacy, including myself, who flew with him in Macau and PNG.

He was impartial to the occasional king can of San Mig. Very fond memories.

An extremely smooth and natural pilot who was an absolute pleasure to fly with, who possessed a brilliant dark sense of humour and razor sharp wit, but above all a gentleman and a fantastic human being. RIP Chanty

Very sad news, a great loss to the helicopter community. narva1 and gulliBell, I couldn't agree more.
I had the great pleasure to have flown with Neil. He was a true professional, gentleman, mentor and mate.
My thoughts go out to Pam and the family.
RIP Neil. Thank you true

RIP

A straight up bloke, I flew with him for some time with Pacific, enjoyed his no nonsense wit and learned a few things from him. Condolences to family.

Very sad news indeed. As many have said a brilliant pilot with a wicked sense of humour which made crewing a pleasure and socialising even better. RIP.

For those wishing to attend, Neil's funeral will take place at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park (in the northern suburbs of Perth) on Friday 13th May at 14:30hrs. I believe it is in the East Chapel.
