Calling all ex 33 Sqn Puma crews....

On the 12th January 2016 33 Squadron, Royal Air Force will be celebrating 100 years since it's official formation in 1916.

As with other Sqns that have reached this historic milestone, the Sqn is planning a number of events to celebrate and commemorate this anniversary.

A formal parade and dinner has been planned to which we have opened an invitation to all current and ex-military personnel who have served on 33 Squadron RAF at some point during the last 100 years!

Unfortunately due to the potential numbers, this will have to be limited to indivduals only (ie no partners, spouses).

Places are filling up very quickly so if you would like more detail, please send an enquiry email with your name and contact details, along with your 33 Sqn history to the following address:

Surely it was 33 Squadron Royal Flying Corps which was formed on that date in 1916?

The Royal Air Force was not in existence until it formed with the amalgamation of the Royal Flying Corps (Army) and the Royal Naval Air Service (Navy) on the 1st April 1918.

..... now what joker thought of that date I wonder ......

On the 12th January 2016 33 Squadron, Royal Air Force
Thanks for pointing that out 76fan but on the date stated above it will be 33 Sqn Royal Air Force celebrating 100 years since it's formation as a Squadron.

I don't think we are expecting to see anybody who served during the RFC years!!

That's okay, then let's clarify.

So it's the Royal Air Force celebrating the 100th anniversary of the army's 33 Squadron Royal Flying Corps Filton squadron, by those who later served in the 33 Squadron of the Royal Air Force, and not as you stated "personnel who have served on 33 Squadron RAF at some point during the last 100 years!"

Historical accuracy is appreciated or we'll all think America won WW2 on it's own, just as the movies would have us believe.
