#Opinionated

Nowherespecial, for someone based in Wales you seem to have a very in depth opinion about the situation at North Denes?

Have been through TUPE myself as both an employee and as a person involved in bringing people on board via it.

And am a pilot.

And work for a large operator.

Not much happening in Wales though admittedly, hence my keen interest in other areas

BALPA | NORTH SEA HELICOPTER PILOTS CONSIDER STRIKE ACTION

Good to see BALPA and more North Sea pilots trying to highlight a safety issue, rather than taking a management approach to protect their own back sides and hoping everything will be okay and normal and the pilots and everyone behaves like good boys and girls and marches like lemmings untl the end.

Out of interest, could you elaborate on what you see is the safety issue at stake? Addressed to post 44.

It is fairly widely accepted that pilots not fully concentrating on their complicated job, as they are distracted that they may be out of work very soon, loose their livelihood and homes and whether they will be able to provide for their families, might be a flight safety issue at stake, I would hazard to post 46.

Witnessed 'Safety' plummet due to distractions
Pilots joining the circuit on the wrong frequency, flying without a lifejacket, going off in the wrong direction, not putting the gear down, incorrect fuel loads - the standard stuff.
More amazingly was the pilots' inability to recognize how seriously they were relying on Lady Luck with fare-paying passengers on board!
CAA weren't particularly interested, even after the company FSOs recommended to stop flying.....
