Ppl h books
Hello!
I'm currently taking my ppl (h) exams. I've got the books that can be used for both ppl h and ppl a, Nav, Air Law etc, but I'm struggling to decide on a book for principles of flight and aircraft general.
Has anyone got any recommendations? I put this post in the Private Flying section, and was recommended to put it here too.
Thanks
Steve

Seconded on Coyle's Art and Science of...
It goes a bit deeper into the subject than is required to pass the PPL POF exam but its stuff that is truly worth knowing.
Good luck!

A humble suggestion:
Private Helicopter Pilot Studies
It covers the whole syllabus, as reviewed by Dennis Kenyon in last month's Pilot mag.
If you want a modern alternative to the Confuser:
PPL Q & A

If you can find 'The Art and Science of Flying Hellicopters' on abebooks.com, or ebay, you're more than welcome to pay the ludicrous prices asked.
On the other hand, if you want the newer, bigger version (with at least 50% more bad jokes), look for 'Cyclic and Collective'. It has everything the older version, and at a lower price.
Also available as an e-book at an even lower price.
And for any PPLs, I'd also recommend the 'Little Book of Autorotations'...

Hi Harveyst,
See what I mean, these guys on rotorheads know everything you could wish to learn about Rotorcraft flying, if you are stuck on any item ask the question and watch the answers come in from real time and very experienced Heli Pilots, they will all give you genuine and correct answers. But also remember what I said about the R22..! on private flying.
