'Check A' Bubble

I was having a discussion with a friend the other day and the topic of distraction came up. I referred to the 'aviation bubble' where for example, if you know a pilot is doing something such as a Check A, they shouldn't be disturbed.

I know we also had this practise in the military, is this recognised elsewhere?
