R-44 Low RPM horn
Hey guys!
I have a question? I fly the R-44 Astro helicopter and sometimes after landing when the helicopter comes to a stable hover the low RPM horn starts to ring for a few seconds and goes off again. The AUW was less than 2400 and within the CG, the MAP is also around 25 at that time. Is it possible that the throttle reduces automatically? This has happened a couple of times. Has this happened to any of you? If so then what could be the problem?

Hi there does the rpm come down ? In which case it might be a slow governor or a tight grip on the throttle ? Is it a hyd one or still using the trim ? The trim version does have a heavy lever and the force required to raise it can stop the governor working . If it's just the horn climb on for no reason then get it fixed !

R44 Low RPM Horn
You say the horn goes off, is that after you have actually landed, or still in the hover? If after you have already landed it is probably the collective riding up a bit after you have reduced the throttle. Get it adjusted by your maintenance outfit.
