Red face Inaer: 3 incidents in 5 days

As everyone knows, Inaer has a unacceptable incident/accident rate.
In the last 5 days Inaer had 3 incidents, one in Spain (firefighting-wire collision), one in Italy (HEMS) and another one in Portugal (firefighting-trees collision).
Thanks God, no fatalities.

What do you suspect to be the core reasons behind the high incident/accident rate? Might those reasons have reared their heads here? It might be just bad luck. What's the detail?

Are the Guardia Civil aircraft and crews provided by Inaer too? It would seem not. Either way it looks like the continuation of a dreadful run for Spanish rescue helicopters with Almeria (Inaer), the Canaries (military) and now this.

Correct "satsuma", I stand to be corrected but the Guardia Civil has his own fleet and own pilots as they are a part of the Spanish Armed forces belonging to the Ministry of Defence.

For the non spanish speaking PPRuners the article and other sources state the helicopter rotors collided with the mountain wall while proceding to pick up a rescue specialist and a mountanier with a broken ankle at around 9.00AM. Two pilots and a third officer died in the crash. The 4th crewmember took also part in the recovery operation of the deceased.

In the news streem heavy fog is reported to have been in the area at the time of the accident.

Still a very sad day and a useless loss of life.

Reuters report

Spanish helicopter crash kills three civil guards in mountain rescue
Sun, Aug 24 07:15 AM EDT
MADRID (Reuters) - Three Spanish civil guards died on Sunday when their helicopter crashed in the northwestern province of Leon as they tried to rescue a mountain climber, a spokesman for the local government said.

The blades of the helicopter brushed the side of a mountain close to the Picos de Europa range. The aircraft slid down the slope, killing the two pilots and a member of a mountain rescue team.

A fourth member of the civil guard had already descended from the helicopter to search for the climber before it crashed. The climber, who had broken his ankle, was eventually taken to hospital by another helicopter.

John,
heard anything about an emergency landing enroute to Melbourne. Rumours around a blade or head problem?
