Mike Smith - RIP

Sad to hear the death of former Radio 1 / TV presenter Mike Smith today. Met him many a time and spoke on the RT. Condolences to Sarah, their families and friends.

Damn, shocked to hear. Mike was a great character, ran a good operation, supported and mentored a lot of pilots.

So sorry to hear that. Flew with him in Galway when PIXX was brand new.

Never knew much about his aviation ventures but I remember him from Capital Radio and BBC R1 days. His style and humour on Radio 1 brightened many a dark North Sea morning on the ADF.

Spoke his mind, didn't he?! But a nice enough bloke, I thought. Ex-BBC radio man myself so was slightly thrilled to work alongside him at Denham.
