A109a tail

Could someone tell me what the curved section is beneath the end of the tail section of an A109a. It looks like hose of some kind or an antenna (or tail skid?) and does not appear to be on all models.
Thank you
KeMac

Thank you Helispeediii - A friend of mine thought it was a petrol hose (and he has a PPL as well!)
