From common sense: Maybe in the long run it is less expensive to start the engine and fly 3 circuits once every week?
Unless this is going to be a "I really want to know what to do, if...." thread.

Here is a record of an R44 main rotor transmission bevel gear suffering a catastrophic structural failure likely due to surface corrosion caused by the presence of moisture within the gearbox housing: http://www.atsb.gov.au/media/3657509/AO2011088.doc
The investigation did not make a determination as to how the moisture entered the gearbox, but it did conclude that periodic operation of the gearbox would likely have helped mitigate the problem. The report also recommended that long term storage of the helicopter should be indoors in a "dehumidified environment".
