Heli Expo 2014 Roll Call

Morning all and happy new year

Whose up for / going to HAI convention next month? I'm booked locked and ready to rock lol.

I suspect one of the main highlights will be Airbus Helicopters, Bell Short Light Single etc etc.

Any other thoughts?

Cheers

I've taken over Ray Prouty's lectures and will be providing one of the pre-expo courses, and then loitering with intent to bore after that.

Bit of a sneak preview

Well it seems there will be a welcome in the hillsides of Anaheim [if you can find one] for posters on this forum according to this [one of a few] power up your phone facility inside the Anaheim Convention Center.....

No signs yet of anything earth shattering about to be announced in the halls from Tuesday but that is the joy of this event - you never know what lies around the corner.

Well think I heard Enstrom maybe unveiling something new , and the S/X-97 Raider mock up is inside (just woken up after arriving last night lol)

There's a white AS332C1. classic Bell 47J lurking around, SUndance Helicopters EC130B4, and the classic Sikorsky HO5S and that warbirds AH-1G Cobra in the old US Army Test and Eval red / white colors that was on show last year.

If you want to see more, just check out the Verticalmag FB page as theres photos of the a/c arriving.

Cheers

Anybody heard of any Euroc...err...Airbus announcements regarding the X4, X6, X9 programs? At last year's HeliExpo, Lutz Bertling promised at least a "glimpse" of X4 this year, but there's nothing in the press release...

I haven't heard anything more about the X4 other than this article in December.
Eurocopter X4 Design Details Emerge | Aviation International News

With the AW169 getting so many orders, you would think they would be trying to promote it more. Maybe it's because of the troubles they had with 175 and 145T2 cert that they've pushed it back.

Bell is introducing a new product.

It seems that they are getting into the hotel electronic key market.
Finally realized what they should have done all along?

Oh, yes they are also re-introducing the 525...as a video again.
