JAA IR Validity ?

Can anyone tell me exactly how long my JAA IR is valid for ?

My IR currency ran out on 31st Jan 2009.

On January 31st 2014 it will be 5 years since.

I seem to remember something about 5 and maybe 7 years being the duration before you have to sit the IRT all over again.

Also, if a window of opportunity exists, what would i need to do to re-validate it?

Would a check flight in the SIM be enough ?

Appreciate your insights.

5 years after the expiry you have to do it all with the authorities again. The 7 years refers to the theoretical knowledge exams
