Which union?

I'm a North Sea Puma skipper and have been a member of BALPA since I first got my licence but I like to have a review of things every now and then. Any suggestions for other unions which could possibly be considered? Thanks in advance.

After a recent workplace incident, I joined Unite for about £10 a month. Although they don't specialise for pilots, they do for cabin crew and provide lawyers when needed. All you need but cheaper!

Very interesting Jay. Thats a whole load cheaper than a BALPA option of 1% a month or whatever it is now.

If they give the same level of cover, and looking at the failings of BALPA in the offshore sector, then I cant see why anyone would choose BALPA over UNITE.
Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Jayteeto. I heard that alot of BA's fixed wing guys have been joining a European pilots' union. Don't know any details but worth looking into and one of the reasons I have decided to shop around.

In Australia, many Off-Shore pilots are disappointed with the AFAP.
Joining a non aviation union (Probably the AWU) is being discussed.

Off-shore pilots unhappy with the AFAP?? Not from where I'm sitting.
