US/Europe Cost of Living(COLA) vs Salary

Thinking of working in Europe vs the States and am trying to get a handle on what salary is needed in Europe to offset the higher costs/taxes. The European salaries sound better but when I try to do the math I get confused information on the tax rates. Housing I know is much more. I understand the US tax
rates and figure they won't stay where they are now! To make it simple what European salary would be needed to match a $100,000 US salary's purchasing power?

Redhawk:

The equivalent if you work in Switzerland (US dollar equivalent): $250,000.
France: $190,000.
Spain: $85,000.
Latvia: $40,000
Romania:$50

Hope this helps.
