VAT refund for non-EU citizen

Hi

Could not find anything about this using search. I am a resident in Switzerland. Used to live in the UK. Recently started my PPL(H) but realised it is a lot cheaper to do it in the UK. Does anyone know if I can get the VAT refunded being a non-EU resident the same way I can get the VAT refunded for goods I am buying whilst in the EU? I have sent the same question to HMRC so hopefully they will come back with an answer.

If you take the goods and services within the country then no, if you take the goods outside the country then yes
