corrosion treatment

Does anyone have a recommendation for spray on corrosion protection for inside and underneath helicopters that have been working offshore on platforms?

Check your maintenance manual for acceptability and specifications, but ACF-50 is pretty good if allowed.
http://www.acf-50.co.uk/
It is required for specific uses on the S76, for example.

CorrosionX is pretty hard to beat.

NavGuard II MIL-PRF-81309 CPC.

Possibly 3 times better than anything else. Read up here

Hi,
It obviously depends on the type of helicopter...Eurocopter gives some guidance for corrosion control on the Standard practices manual. Bear in mind that the primary mean of protection is the airframe and components paint.
- General purpose, spraying a bit of Acf-50, WD-40, LPS 3, etc.
- On bare aluminum, (Like EC130/135 TR blades) : alodine
- Good cleaning and rinsing practices are key

Hope it helps

I don't like ACF50 or Corrosion X, both stop corrosion but stay wet and cause movement around rivets which then work loose and cause cracks, spray out a 212/412 tail boom with either and see how long before you have working rivets and a crack in your fin.
I like AV products , AV15 is super penetrating water displacement corrosion inhibitor which dries in a couple of days and you don't get working rivets etc thru the airframe.
AV-Dinitrol do a whole range of corrosion inhibitors, I've used LPS 3, ACF 50, Corrosion X and AV products and the AV leaves the rest for dead.
I'd sooner use none and just keep and airframe washed and clean and dry than use the wet corrosion inhibitors.
