US Helicopter Scholarships Pilot & Engineering now available

The 2014 Scholarship applications are now available. Applicants will have until the end of November to return applications. Contact HFI Vice President/Curator Marty Pociask with any questions at [email protected]

As the aircraft industry becomes ever more sophisticated, the requirement for highly skilled pilots and maintenance technicians becomes more and more critical.

HFI is offering an array of scholarships to answer the need for both qualified helicopter pilots and maintenance technicians, and to provide further training for safety managers and other professionals in the safety field.

Scholarship monies will be paid upon award of an FAA Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate. Written notification of FAA Certificate along with a copy of the certificate must be sent to HFI at 1635 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
I don't understand how they can call it a CPL Scholarship when the successful candidate has to complete the CPL out of their own pocket first before being awarded the $5000!

That's not true:

If the school has not been compensated by the student, the HFI will make payment to the institution on behalf of the student, up to the maximum limit of the scholarship awarded.

In the event that the student was previously invoiced by the school and has completely paid in advance, the HFI will reimburse the student directly, up to the maximum limit of the scholarship awarded.
