Australian Fire Contracts?

It seems to be very, very quiet on the NAFC front. Has anyone heard anything at all as to the awarding of the 70 or so contracts for the (rapidly approaching) fire seasons in all states?

It is getting late to employ crews let alone ramp up for the importing of all of the heavy equipment form overseas.

If anyone has the heads-up on what is happening, it would help for the all important positioning of one's CV.

Thanks in advance to those in the know...

Fleet Helicopters ex Tamworth is in bed with HTSI for two Cranes this year, one in Sydney and one in Adelaide. With the takeover of Evergreen by Erickson, who have less than $1 mil. in cash in the bank, it's pretty likely that there'll either be a lot less orange in the sky this year or the cost of cranes for the government will be a lot less.

The good word is expected to be out in a month or so, you can expect hiring to firm up after that.

If that is the HTSI that DG was working with out of the parramatta speedway it will be a good thing. Very good people to work with.

It is my understanding that some of these fire contracts get mobilizing as soon as next month. This would surely put the pressure on companies importing the Type 1's from O.S.?

Or does the lack of announcements boad well for the encumbant operators?

Still baffled by the lack of news. (Will need to change the date on my resume letters...)

Anyone.... anything....?
