EC135 operating costs

Can anyone give me a realistic (i.e. not manufacturers) estimate of operating costs for the 135? please.

Ian

Have a word with the guys at Eastern Counties police Maintenance at Wattisham, they look after 3 of them so should give you a good steer, less the police bits of course. Also discuss the differences in owning P&Ws or leasing Turbomeca/PBH/SBH etc...I know they've been leading the trial on extended maint schedules to 500/1000 hour with G-ESEX rather than the 400/800.

A good machine with very mechanical few issues these days!

Thanks Art,

I was hoping to get some feedback from a non government organisation. Those figures aren't always realistic in the commercial world. I'm looking at PBH as another comparison.

I appreciate your interest.

Thanks again

Conklin & de Decker have a free version of their cost summary program. Overall cost might differ in the UK but it gives a good ball park figure to compare the different models with each other

Thanks Hawkeye. Useful but, as you say, doesn't cross the pond too well.

Talk to WPD they have 4 P1s, they went with P&W engines because of the cheaper PBH compared to Turbomeca, Don't quote me but I seem to remember $100 compared to €130...

Capital are another you can ask though their maintenance is done by ECUK who are, I am told, pricey but things get resolved quick but you need to keep an eye on things.....
