Three Blades; a lot of thermal imaging of components that can't easily be accessed because of all the trains!

Oh, and a lot of high-res photography too. Sometimes they get to film things and SOMETIMES they get to chase naughty people.

There are 20,000 miles of track and most of it starts and ends in London. Take a peek at the heli-route chart when you get chance - I believe railways are the black lines

And then the rest of the time the crew drink tea, talks about flying and meets celebrities such as the Hoff or Leon Smith.

Hell yes! THE Leon Smith aka Top Cat 01. Although I still haven't managed to get a picture with him yet.

I think I caught a glimpse of his back once. Difficult to tell with that baseball cap, but he was eff'ing and blinding down the phone to the CAA, so I think it was him. Security wouldn't let me take a picture.

Are you based at WAP?

Low level helicopter routes over London

I think we could make a very strong case for putting Leon in charge of the CAA! :-)

Should we ever leave EASA in this modern world of democracy then surely we'd have to have. Vote on who runs the CAA, or, at the very least, have an equivalent of a PCC...

Leon gets my vote too!

I just like to see Leon when I'm getting above my station and need bringing back down to earth with some choice language and well aimed abuse
