Helicopter crash claims one life

According to the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office, they received a call at 10:44 a.m. about a helicopter being down near Lyons Point Highway and Benton Road in the community of Lyons Point.
Witnesses say the helicopter hit a guide wire off of an antennae owned by KSIG, owned by Phil and Shell Lavat.
The sheriff's office says the believe the one person killed was the only person on board.
Currently, the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office is securing the scene until the FAA and NTSB arrive, they are en route.
For the safety of the public, the sheriff's office is keeping people away from the area to air on the side of caution as the antennae may have been compromised due to the guide wire.
The APSO wants to emphasize that no one is in danger as of this moment.
TOBYHANNA, Pa. - October 10, 2012 (WPVI) -- The two men killed in a helicopter on Tuesday night in the Poconos have been identified.
The Monroe County coroner said the victims are pilot William Ellsworth from Califon, New Jersey and front seat passenger Tighe Sullivan from Darien, Connecticut.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Stephen Barral from Bernardsville, New Jersey, was seriously injured and remains hospitalized.
The chopper went down around 8 p.m. Tuesday in Coolbaugh Township, about 90 miles north of Philadelphia. The wreckage was located in woods off Interstate 380 around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
The coroner said the helicopter was returning from a golf outing.
Investigators believe the helicopter came from Elmira, New York, then made a stop in Wilkes-Barre to drop off a passenger.
The helicopter was then heading to New York City when it hit bad weather. The pilot was trying to land at the Mt. Pocono Airport when it crashed.
Officials say the helicopter is registered to ACS Helicopters LLC in Far Hills, N.J., and based out of the Somerset Airport in Somerville, N.J.
