Heli-one Poland

There was rumours in the past about Heli-one Poland starting up but now its seems to be true. Where are they getting the work from, is it Norway and/or Boundry Bay, Vancouver. It has also been talked about a maintenance base to be set up in Brazil. Sounds to me like the bean counters are at it again. If i was an employee at Boundry Bay would i be worried about my future employment?

I guess someone finally woke up and smelled the coffee. Surely nobody thinks that locating a labor intensive maintenance facility in the most expensive country in the world is going to be competitive against anyone outside Norway. Boundary Bay is cheap by comparison. Brazil is major helicopter market with import/export restrictions that strongly encourage domestic industry, so a no-brainer there either.

Don't some major European airlines contract their heavy maintenance to shops in southeast Asia?
