2 x 206 incidents at EGBV yesterday?
Two incidents at Silverstone yesterday?
Heard of a 206 that suffered a 'loss of power' as it lifted with pax doing pleasure flights, did a 360, almost went over and was subsequently grounded?
Also a Longranger that suffered a 'very heavy landing', possible tail strike - also grounded..?

How busy was the heliport busy yesterday? The weather further East was pretty bad in the morning and even into the afternoon, but on the telly Silverstone looked pretty clear.
If it turns out that the Freshair machine was involved, that's a pity: a nice operation and nice guys that runs the outfit

All I can say is that I was on short final to the threshold of 21 when one of the Jet Bangers in question overtook me, at a fair lick, to my right and low level from over the track. Wind was 90deg to the FATO from the S and the aircraft effectively did a downwind right hand "quickstop" to a mid point gate. I am not in a position to say how heavy the fuel load was but a full compliment of disorientated pax climbed out....

From the brief neither did I. So when I clocked the other aircraft closing in to the same approach point from a different direction and faster than me, I voiced my concerns with ATC with a "Is this normal?" ATC then replied (Just before the "incident" occurred) "it is quite ok and perfectly normal to have many aircraft cleared on finals at the same time".
I didn't want to clog the airwaves with a protracted discussion but my understanding is that it is ok to have more than one aircraft cleared finals when they are stacked behind each other in sequence but when you have traffic cleared finals to the same point form different directions with no sequence then it becomes untidy and potentially dangerous.
I count this only my third but successful Silverstone so any experienced feedback much appreciated.
Hats off to all Silverstone ATC bods though, as it truly was an outstanding service provided under tough conditions as always.

"Didn't think the system allowed for overtaking at Silverstone."
You can if you use KERS and DRS down Hangar straight!
