There are no specialised helicopter employment agencies in UK. However, an advert in Flight International would get replies (if you are willing and able to sort the wheat from the large quantity of chaff, if you know what I mean - this is one good reason for requesting an agency in the first place).

Where is the location of the employment (I might be interested in firing off a CV myself)?

As i am feeling Grumpy this morning.....this thread gives me an excuse to put on a Rant.

Let's start with the title of the thread and what it imports.

The poster is not looking for Pilots, Air Crew, or Experienced Aviatiors.

He is looking for qualified, type rating holding persons to fill his cockpit seats.

He doesn't want to spend any money finding well experienced Pilots, with experience in any other kind or type of aircraft.

He is looking for a cheap way to crew his helicopter(s).

This is what is so wrong about our industry......and what is an indictment of the European/UK system of licensing.

It is so type specific as to be completely stupid.

How many folks have felt compelled to do a Type rating course and pay for it out of their own pocket in order to find employment? I submit if you are flying Bell 412's....or S-76's.....or AW-139's....or EC-155's.....conveting to a AW-109 is really more a memory exercise (under the UK system) learning the numbers, learning the systems, than anything else. At least in the US system....rather than memorize numbers we are allowed to look at the gauges or indicators and decipher what we see displayed.

I ask the poster....would you overlook a 20,000 hour pilot with a half dozen type ratings for a brand new pilot with a thousand hours and exactly one type rating....being the 109?

Would you provide the 20,000 hour pilot a conversion course?

Anyone that is "looking" for crews and does not know of the pilot staffing agencies in the UK and USA.....plainly needs to do some homework.

Why not hire a Consultant to do the hiring for you....someone that knows the industry and has contacts to locate professional, qualified, experienced crews for you. I would suggest the end result would be better.....not necessarily cheaper.

One example of what can result from the US system is a crew of two pilots who came along to pick up a S-76. After strapping in and fiddling about for twenty minutes they came back in to ask advice on how to start it.

Tell us the rest of the story......as I am sure there is far more to it.

As written.....it comes across as an insult to American pilots.....and that coming from you would be out of character and a flat stupid comment.

So...please do lay it out for us in totality will you.....or risk being seen in a bad light by a lot of us here.....as I am sure you did not mean to be insulting.....or did you?

The incident is true and happened at Stansted Airport. I didn't actually say they were American pilots. I wouldn't personally like to be put in their situation and no insult meant.

Jeeze this thread should have been locked after the first couple of replys
Poor guy comes on to ask a pilot website about a recruitment agency and wakes up some grumpy grandad who goes off on a booze soaked rant about something else. Now we're flag waving about America.
Another hijacked thread, another waste of time

Thanks grandad...

Glad to see you are still one of my fans Tuk!

As well as being known by the friends you have.....you are also judged on the kinds of enemies you make.

Last time I had a drink was about five weeks ago....but now that you mention it....I shall lift one in your direction!

Soon coming up to 10.000 posts, SASless.... maybe it's time for you to go out and get some fresh air. The internet can be quite addictive, you know, and bad habits are not easy to get rid of
