I think Fishtail is the only company that operates the Bell206 at that altitudes. The altitudes reached by this helicopter are unbelivable. The performances of 206 are unappreciated/underrated by a lot of people, but I see that in hands of certain pilots this helicopter is still one of the greatest helicopters in the world.
Somebody told me R44 has better performances than B206 I don't think so

Angel Island Peak Rescue Mission

Namaste MountainGirl1957 - Deborah

Thank You so much for Your very kind positive words

It was my pleasure, duty & honour to be there to Rescue You from Island Peak just below the summit 19,985' (landing height)

Conditions that day looked fantastic but it was extremely turbulent Jet Streams blowing, gusts up to 60knots & blowing around 45knots, Clear Air Turbulence CAT, hence after testing the winds so to speak, 3 missed approaches later there was no chance of a successful landing & take-off. So I requested to have You moved to another location which had a more into wind approach profile, from where I could safely Rescue You

Sadly due to performance limitations & extreme conditions I had to deny Your Doctor coming with us

I hope You are fully recovered now & look forward to meeting with You in Nepal again soon

Om Blessings

Hi VF

Yours words on the 3 x missed approaches under such tight conditions, I hope will be well recieved by the many PPL pilots who are tuned into your consistant stream of valuable pics (No1) and such comments(No2), that even a high Alt rescue takes second place to you finding the right wind and area to land in,...I hope many read and absorb this post of yours.

Namaste and stay safe, in the kingdom of the Gods
