I imagine that deer is going to be ceremoniously decapitated with one blow of a Kukri. The Ghurkha regiment I was attached to in Borneo had a ceremony where the RSM lopped the head off a calf with a BIG kukri.

Then they cooked and eat it.

Namaste

The picture post in 5081 is of a baby cow being taken for a Hindu blessing. It will not be killed, at least not by Hindus as the cow is sacred. Traditionally both Buddhist and Hindu are vegetarians.

Glad to see you back Capt VF, thank you for your unique postings. It is sad that some is is still deleting so many of yours and others posts from here?

Namaste Rotorbabe.....Yes that's right! But many Buddhist's & Hindu's have fallen from the path & eat Animals Thanks that is a good question why?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Fareastdriver..........like Rotorbabe said. The Kukri is more a fighting weapon, though I've used it a few times to pop the top of a few cold cleansers

G'day etudiant...............the B3 has landed on Everest; twice! so can hop over basically any pass in the World, depending on performance (AUW on the day)

Letting her use a pasta cutting machine? I'm disappointed in you VR. You should make her hand throw the noodles in the traditional way.

Wink Dam Questions

G'Day Steve! Some of your recent photographs depict what I interpret to be dammed rivers. The lakes behind the dams appear rather narrow but extremely deep - immense volumes of water are stored. Several feature a number of houses and larger buildings (entire villages?) immediately downstream of those occluded rivers. Is this a common feature in Nepal and Tibet? (I'm thinking artificial lake + earthquake = flooding disaster.) Keep posting your great shots of massive mountains of rock, delectable mounds of food, and lovely ladies, Sir! We all appreciate your considerable and artistic efforts...

No issues here. However, you can go back and use the old default setting.
Just go to the forum homepage, then scroll down to the very bottom left corner and choose a viewing preference.
