Great photos, VF. Is that a bull bar on the front, or do you use it as a clothesline to dry out your spare underwear? 
Anyway, from a now grounded old helicopter pilot, I have noticed an advertisement on Discovery Channel where 9N-AKF makes a landing to drop off some adventurer. Are you a film star as well? Take care up there!

if it's the black nose mounted bib, that's for hanging Camera gear off 
if it's the stainless tubing Your referring too then that's for the Slinging mirror to hang off
