Shetland Tigers
We were swinging the lamp earlier today about working in the NNS off Shetland /Scatsta, and the subject turned to Helicopters, out of interest, what happenned to or where are the Tigers now that were replaced by the S 92s, are they still in service, did GG finally self destruct or are they resting up somewhere sunny ???......
Blimey, I was once told "you canīt polish a turd", apparently you can.
I see CHC have managed to shift some of their Līs, G-PUME and G-BKZE(?) have been tarted up in Stavanger in full military grey, package and shipped off somewhere.

Some of the BHL aircraft are also in "storage" down in Australia. I think I saw some in a hangar in Broome a few months ago. CHC still have a few working but most will be replaced by EC225s. I remember when, in 1982, many of the earlier Bristow "Tigers" we're delivered new and they were the latest and greatest.
'Cant polish a turd' .....
...........mind you from what i hear i think some of the old hands on the rig would actually prefer the old work horses to the 92s

How do they compare to the standard Puma....physical dimension wise..would they be a natural follow on for the Vertrep Contracts the US Navy MSC has going using Evergreen and another outfit?

ZE and ZG
ZE and G to the Navy, that's some 28 years now after they were delivered. Super Pumas with carpets and high backed passenger seats complete with IFE for the bears. First new aircraft I ever flew, come to think of it there's not been many since. Any one know where my course partner Guy White is?
SASless. It is the same basic fuselage and the overall dimensions are similar. For big u/s jobs the centre fuel tank can be removed and the load pole fitted the same as the 330.
